Navya Bhimrajka

Optimist Creative Fellow

Los Angeles

Navya is a Junior at Claremont McKenna College, where she is pursuing a dual major in Economics and Mathematics. She is originally from Mumbai, India. On campus, she is involved in the Bollywood Dance club and Women in Business club, and works as a tutor at the Quantitative and Computing Lab.

Outside of academics, Navya channels her energy into the arts – she sketches, paints, and has a deep love for film and music. You’ll often find her jamming with friends, on the tennis court, or outside, soaking up the sun.

Why I’m excited to join Optimist as a Creative Fellow:

What drew me to Optimist was their commitment to telling urgent, genuine stories that force us to pay attention. Watching Living on One Dollar made me realize how easy it is to look past the struggles of people right in front of us, and, crucially, how powerful film can be in closing that distance.

I’m thrilled to join this team and this industry that sits at the intersection of creative expression and real-world impact. I’m excited to grow as a storyteller through this journey and can’t wait to get started!
