Jordan Yates

Jordan is a senior at Claremont McKenna College, where she studies Economics. She is proudly from Los Angeles, California, and spends a lot of her free time at LA sporting events, specifically Los Angeles Dodgers games. During the school year, Jordan plays for her school’s Varsity Women’s Soccer Team at the Division III level. She is also the president of an a cappella group, and holds campus jobs as a tour guide and sports broadcaster, as well as serving as a Resident Assistant in the dorms during her senior year. Outside of this, Jordan loves going to concerts, hanging out with family and friends, exploring new places, and trying all kinds of foods.

Why I’m excited to join Optimist as a Creative Fellow:

I got to meet both Chris and Zach before starting at Optimist, and I immediately became interested in their goals as filmmakers and the impact and change they want to create in the world. I felt that the films they made revealed a lot of truths that aren’t always at the forefront of people’s minds, and I think that by highlighting these stories, they have created awareness and change for these communities. I am excited to get hands-on experience and mentorship at Optimist that will teach me a variety of technical and life skills for my future.
