Rosa, a young Mayan woman, sits alone. She stares into the camera and for the first time shares her story. She has wrestled with rejection, forgiveness and the fight to keep her child alive. Now 27, she must overcome her past to follow the dreams she once thought impossible.

Impact
A scholarship fund launched in Rosa’s name has raised more than $100,000—giving four indigenous Guatemalan women access to a college education, including Rosa. They are the first women in the community to go to university and have paved the way for others to follow. Rosa is in her final semester of nursing school and hopes to open a clinic in her community.
